The Introduction
Hello lovely! Welcome to my Emporium where there is truly something for everyone! You’ve made it to my author page, but before we get to that let me tell you a little bit about myself so we can get a to know each other better! My name is Seylah Love, and I am a Sacred Activist, Multi-Disciplinary Artist, Full-Spectrum Spiritual and Physical Doula and Divine Physician. I was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana and I have a strong connection to my culture and the land of which I was born and raised. My work is heavily influenced by the ancient teachings, methodologies and technologies of my ancestors sprinkled with the influence of divine and universal wisdom I have obtained from my life’s experiences and the teachings and sacred practices of Kemeticism, Hinduism, and Taoism. I am a certified reiki master, and I am very passionate about the healing, liberation and evolution of the people and I do this work through my writings as an author, through my spiritual and personal development services as a doula and divine physician and the use of my being as a sacred activist to advocate for the rights, freedom and care of the Earth and her children, animals and humans alike. I am so happy you are here and look forward to connecting and sharing space with you! Don’t forget to subscribe to the newsletter so we can stay in touch!
“Zora Neale Hurston once said, "If you are silent about your pain, they'll kill you and say you enjoyed it." Reading this quote for the very first time changed my life forever. For a long time I felt as if my life, my experiences and my being did not deserve to take up space. I was afraid to live for me and to use my voice out of fear of being dismissed, ignored and resisted against. Out of fear of being labeled disruptive, difficult, angry, overemotional and all of the other disaffirming labels they put onto any black woman that decides she will no longer suppress her truth and her soul for the sake of keeping the peace and making others feel comfortable. I decided that enough was enough. I vowed that the days of letting other people narrate my story and silence my voice were over forever. I wasn't going to let trauma, fear, systematic oppression, generational curses or anything continue to silently kill me. It was time for me to be the revolution that I and my life needed. I decided that they were going to hear me and that I wasn't going to go quietly…”
